Northern California Escapade: Lake Alpine Adventures with Friends, Furry Pals, and Fireside Nights

Imagine this: it’s 3 AM, you’re completely lost, and somehow, your phone finds just enough signal to call for a rescue. That’s how our unforgettable trip to Northern California’s Lake Alpine began—with an unexpected adventure even before reaching our destination!

Arrival Adventures:

Our late-night arrival turned into a rescue mission when we had to call my uncle to find us in the dark. Luckily, he came to our aid, guiding us to the campsite where we crashed in his huge blackout tent. Just as my head hit the pillow it magically started to rain, as if it were waiting for me. As the rain softly pattered on the canvas, mixing with the rhythmic sound of droplets hitting the leaves, we drifted into the most peaceful sleep surrounded by nature’s lullaby.

Morning Mishaps and Marvelous Meals:

Waking up in the wilderness has its surprises—like discovering your breakfast almost becoming a feast… for a fox! Yes, a sneaky little fox thought it could dine on our worship snacks, but luckily, we managed to save most of it. Fueled by this early morning excitement, we cooked up a storm for breakfast. Imagine a spread with croissants, sausage, steak, eggs, and hash browns—it was a feast fit for a crew of hungry adventurers.

Canoeing with Tater Tot:

Post-breakfast, it was time to hit the water. Our canoeing expedition included a special guest—my dog, Tater Tot, who absolutely loves the water and adventure. We paddled to Little Rock Island, a quaint spot in the middle of Lake Alpine, where we lounged under the sun, embraced the tranquility, and just let the world drift away for a little while.

Evening Under the Stars:

As the day faded into night, we gathered around the campfire, sharing stories and roasting marshmallows under the vast, starlit sky. There’s something magical about the glow of a fire and the warmth of good friends around you—it’s the simple moments like these that make memories last a lifetime.

Departure and Diner Delights:

Packing up always has that bittersweet feeling, but we weren’t quite ready to end our trip just yet. Before hitting the road for the eight-hour drive home, we stopped at a local diner. Nothing says “road trip” like loading up on pizza and charging your phones for the journey ahead. With bellies full and batteries full, we were ready to face the long drive home.

A Musical Detour:

On the way back, we made a spontaneous stop along the side of the road. Inspired by the stunning landscapes, we decided to shoot some quick content for my boyfriend’s upcoming song. The backdrop was perfect, and the vibe was just right, adding an artistic twist to our adventure-filled journey. Watch the Slow – ZVY music video on YouTube!

Back to Reality:

After our road trip and a good night’s rest, it was off to Wild Rivers in Irvine for a splash-tastic day with friends Lindsay, Cammie, and Hana. From serene lakes to thrilling water slides, four day weekend had it all!

From getting lost in the dead of night to serene days by the lake and cozy nights by the fire, our trip to Lake Alpine was a reminder of how spontaneous moments often turn into the best stories. So, grab your friends, a map (just in case!), and set off on your own adventure—you never know what memories you’ll make!
